She's honestly not sure where it is.
Which leads her to hammering on the door and asking Hooty, who proceeds to talk for at least ten minutes about how he knows every inch of the house, how he's so helpful, how it's so nice of her to talk to him.
Eventually, she does get the broom, and she tosses it at Lilith, feeling even more annoyed than she had when she woke up.
With a groan, she drops into one of the kitchen chairs. ] This is worse than being human. At least they don't know what they're missing!
And they don't have to put up with that infernal owl.
[ Lilith barely manages to catch the broom, but she just manages to keep it from hitting her in the face. She hasn't had nearly enough apple blood to wake her up yet because Eda's kitchen is an inconsistent nightmare, and sweeping up a whole mess of flour is not exactly in keeping with her image. Nor is it her favorite way to start the day.
What, Hooty? [ Eda looks over toward the living room, where Hooty is singing something from outside the house. She laughs tiredly. ] Made him. Ages ago.
[ Ages and ages ago. When she'd just gotten this house and needed something to keep watch, and to keep her company. ]
[ Lilith hadn't realized that, actually, which is—well. Eda wasn't very well going to tell Lilith the intimate details of her life, she knew that much, had accepted it a long time ago, she thought.
Making a house demon isn't easy. Making one as powerful as Hooty is almost impossible, as far as Lilith knows.
She pushes a bit of the flour into a neat pile, frowning. ]
I would say that's impressive, but he's awful. Truly. The worst house demon I've encountered.
[ Probably not the word Lilith would use, but certainly a word. Like Edalyn's human, or the little demon currently snoring on the couch. Those are charming. Hooty is something else entirely.
Sweeping is also something else: every time Lilith moves the broom it seems like flour gets left behind. It's been so long since she had to do it like this, had to do anything at all manually. It shouldn't be this difficult, but here she is, scowling at a broom in her sister's kitchen. ]
I would need a house before I could make a house demon, and there are more important things to worry about right now. How did you say your human discovered her magic?
You would need magic, too. [ Eda points out. She knows she's being unhelpful, but her sister is staying in her house and she's still not totally on board with that.
And there's the whole Lilith-cursed-her-and-made-her-life-a-living-hell thing. ]
My human took some sorta video of me on her phone thingy, and saw the glyph in the spell circle. Guess they all have 'em, we just do the circles

She sucks in a breath through flaring nostrils and pushes the broom a little too hard against some flour, making it puff up annoyingly.

And in order to get magic, that means I will have to learn those glyphs.
