[ Eda's going to hug her back, a real smile on her lips. She squeezes Luz tighter. ] Looks pretty great. Heh, pity King isn't here. He'd love that.

[ She pats Luz's back as she lets go. ] Christmas, huh? [ She looks down at Luz fondly. She... is only now realizing that gifts are traditional on Christmas. But she just gave Luz that cowboy hat... ] How about we eat it together?

I know. I'd have loved to see King light up when he cut the biscocho.. He would have loved it, and he wouldn't have to jump out of it this time!

Oh yeah. It's a holiday we earth humans celebrate. Basically good cheer, thoughtful gifts and preparation for winter! It's a pretty good time if you don't work retail.

You already gave me an amazing present, and I wanted to return the favor!

Oh, sure! Let's make sure to save some for Margot too!

Well, thanks, kiddo. [ Eda steers them both toward the cake on the table. ] I'd say we should have an eating contest with this thing, but it looks too tasty to waste on that!

I'm here, so we should start our new hopefully temporary time here on a good note, and what's better than a nice Christmas!

[Despite the zombies and cold and terror of course].

No way! I'll reserve that for another time though. We can use a store bought cake then.

Hah! You got it, kiddo. [ Eda squeezes her shoulder before she drops down into a chair. ] How'd you even have time for this? Thought you were out saving the town or something.

Eda, there's always time for Christmas. Besides, of course I'd make time to celebrate with my favorite people. I just had to plan things out a little. Sometimes I had to stay up a little late and smuggle things in during the night. You make do!

So you're sneaking stuff around on me, now. [ Eda snorts a laugh, and picks up a knife to slice the cake. ] Here's to Christmas, I guess.

I am a sneakster, learned from the best!

[She cute herself a slice, beaming, and then poured them both the hot chocolate]. ¡Salud!

Cheers! [ Eda laughs. She's learned what that means, and clinks mugs with Luz. ] That you did.

[ She shakes her head, watching Luz with a little smile. ] You ever think that you only turned up in the Boiling Isles a few months ago?

[She took a drink, prominent chocolate mustache and all].

Yay, we win Deerington! For the time being!

[Look, even Lux wasn't crazy enough to jinx it. At Eda's prompt, Luz turned to her and beamed].

Yeah, I do. And look at us, in an crazy, insane world, but it's way better with you in it.

[ Don't go saying things like that, Luz!

Eda's smile softens and she watches Luz for a long moment. ]

Yeah. Yeah, I'd have to agree there, kiddo.

[She only speaks the truth]!

You know, we should make sure to bring some souvenirs back for King and Hooty. They'd appreciate that!

You, uh, think we can take stuff back with us? [ Eda pauses a little, her fork halfway to her mouth ]

Uh...yes? Actually, I have no idea.

[Luz paused]

Have you tried their whole 'dreamscape' thing yet, the one with the animal spirit guide?

Huh. [ She assumed you couldn't. But that might be interesting... ]

The what? Uh, nah. But I did get a little guy, a dream guide. I'm collecting owls, now.

[Luz laughed]. Not surprised!

I became my guide for a little bit. It was pretty fun, and I was able to make contact with someone really great that helped me out when I arrived in her guide form! I was my one for a little bit too!

I haven't done the dreamscape thing, but I am thinking about it a little.

We can just... opt in? [ She doesn't know much about it. She's mostly just keeping to herself and setting up her business. ] Uh huh. Well, you let me know. Maybe I'll come with.
